ABOUT
My Yoga Journey

My journey into yoga began in 2013 when a skateboarding injury forced me off my board and onto the mat.
What started out as simply an attempt at gentle exercise... rapidly grew into a life long passion.
I found that I could not only feel great in my body, but through yoga I could also regulate my nervous system, clear my mind, see the world more vividly, seperate myself from unconscious behaviours and patterns and therefore release them, and connect to my most authentic self & purpose.
The practice led me to train in India, Australia, Indonesia & NZ, exploring various lineages and teaching styles and developing my own offerings.
Then in 2017 I decided to open my own Retreat Centre - Tanglewood out in Waimauku New Zealand.
I ran Tanglewood for 6 years, hosting boutique retreats and small events as well as a few large Festivals.
I adored the community we created together. Since Tanglewood has sold I’ve loved having the opportunity to share my offerings in other spaces. Such a beautiful reminder we can create community through Yoga anywhere in the world.
I specialise in Mindful Vinyasa Classes, Yin Yoga Nidra & Sound Journeys.
I’m particularly passionate about Empowerment Yoga after training with Byron De Marsé in Ubud in 2024.
Yoga has had such a profound effect on me and my life, I feel immensely grateful for those that have shared it with me, and a responsibility to share it with others.
I’m passionate about facilitating classes, workshops and retreats for that reason.
I have also been fortunate to spend a lot of time in the Safari growing up, and in recent years have created some really special Retreats guiding groups into the bush at Sashwa. It fills my heart to be sharing a love for the magic of the bush as well.

"Being held in Stacey’s gentle, safe presence allowed me to soften, surrender, and release so much of what I had been carrying in my heart and body.
I felt this deeply through both her Sound Journey and her Empowerment Yoga. I felt safe to share what arose during the process and to unpack it even further beyond the class.
I highly recommend Stacey’s offerings to anyone who is open to going deep, feeling freer in life, and truly returning to themselves.
Thank you, Stacey, from the bottom of my heart and soul, for supporting me and my healing in such a transformative way 🤍"

"Stacey is able to perfect the art of casualising her meditation and yoga group practices to not only make them enjoyable to the average person, but also engaging and simple.
I always enjoy Stacey's optimism, good humour & attention to detail."

"Before I met Stacey I had no idea that yoga could be such fun.
And all the more beneficial for it.
She posesses great warmth,
wisdom & skill.
Highly recommended!!"

"I honestly don’t have words big enough for what this retreat gave me.
Practising yoga at sunset on the deck overlooking the river with Stace,
bathed in deep red African skies while giraffes wandered quietly past watching us as we watched them back...
It felt absolutely surreal ..."
